Wyborowa is a very popular, Polish made vodka. In 1823, Hartwig Kantorowicz, founder of Wyborowa, established a new and modern distillery in Poznan. That same year, a Polish newspaper announced a competition to find the finest vodka in Poland. When Wyborowa was presented, the president of the judging panel declared it "Exquisite!". The panel agreed and it was named the best vodka in Poland. Kantorowicz decided to call his vodka "Wyborowa" which literally translates as "Exquisite" in English.
